AboutHow It Works
BIG SKY at anchor below the green mountain peaks of Moorea, French Polynesia.

French Polynesia. Days on the lagoon.

Mountain-backed lagoons in the Society Islands or coral atolls in the Tuamotus. Take time to explore French Polynesia by private crewed yacht.

Find my charter

Stay close to the lagoon

Swim beneath the mountain skyline, wander ashore and return to your own yacht as the light softens across the lagoon.

In the Society Islands, mountains give the lagoons their backdrop. Moorea, Raiatea, Taha'a and Bora Bora each offer a setting for days in the water and time ashore, with a chosen route giving you room to enjoy them.

The Tuamotus bring a different view: coral atolls, lagoon water and a holiday centred on the reef. Choose the archipelago that draws you, then explore a yacht journey within it.

Lagoons, islands and atolls

Give a chosen island group your time, from a Society Islands lagoon to the coral-atoll setting of the Tuamotus.

Turquoise lagoon water and an offshore reef seen from Moorea, French Polynesia.

The Society Islands

Mountain scenery and coral lagoons shape a trip through the Society Islands. Put Moorea or Bora Bora on your wish list, then choose a route with room for swimming, exploring ashore and enjoying the view from aboard.

Raiatea and Taha'a

Raiatea and Taha'a share a lagoon, with beaches, snorkelling and time ashore to explore. Make this the focus of a Leeward Islands request, leaving space for an arranged visit to Taha'a's vanilla plantations.

The Tuamotu Islands

Rangiroa and Fakarava bring coral-atoll scenery to a swimming, snorkelling or diving holiday. Give a chosen atoll time, with the route and water activities planned around lagoon passes, currents and the support your group needs.

Come home to the water

Consider the spaces you would enjoy between lagoon swims and visits ashore, from a place to sit together to cabins for a longer stay.

A few practical details.

Start with your people and dates. The finer details can take shape from there.

Separate Tahiti arrival from yacht boarding
International flights arrive at Tahiti-Faa'a Airport. If your charter begins on another island, connect the onward journey with the agreed boarding time. Keep space for travel either side of the charter before committing to flights or accommodation.
Give your chosen islands enough time
Start with a Society Islands or Tuamotu brief rather than assuming both fit into one holiday. Ask how much time the proposed route spends moving between islands and how much remains for swimming, meals aboard and exploring ashore.
Plan with the conditions
Trade winds, swells and lagoon passes shape a charter as well as the calendar. Tuamotu passes can have strong currents. The captain's route decisions and local conditions determine the day's movements, with room to adjust the plan.

Your time aboard

Multi-day charters with a focused island route

The whole charter cost

Compare a whole-yacht, crewed charter for the same dates and duration. A bareboat fee or a per-person cruise fare is a different basis for the holiday budget.

Understand charter costs
Charter fee and currency
Check the named currency, tax treatment, charter period and crewed service in each quote. Confirm the cabin arrangement works for your full group.
Food, fuel and other expenses
Establish which onboard expenses are included and whether an allowance applies. Ask how the proposed route affects fuel and what any separate activity arrangements cost.
Flights and the boarding island
Include onward flights or transfers from Tahiti and accommodation before or after the charter. Check whether starting or finishing at a different island adds delivery costs.

Make time for French Polynesia

Begin with your dates and guests. The Society Islands or Tuamotus can stay an open choice while you picture the days you would like to share.

Before you go.

Is a Tahiti charter the same as a French Polynesia charter?

Tahiti is one island within French Polynesia and its international arrival gateway. A holiday described as a Tahiti charter may explore other islands. Name the places you want to visit so the route and boarding island are clear.

Should we choose the Society Islands or the Tuamotus?

The Society Islands combine mountainous islands with lagoons; the Tuamotus are centred on coral atolls. Share your priorities and comfort with time at sea. The yacht, passage conditions and available nights help determine a suitable plan.

Do we need sailing experience?

A private crewed charter has a captain and crew to operate the yacht. Bareboat hire is a different arrangement with different responsibilities. Tell us what service and activities you want so the proposed charter suits your group.

Which yachts can we consider for French Polynesia?

Explore the yacht profiles for cabins and spaces aboard, or start with your dates and group before choosing one. Island preferences can be discussed in the follow-up; the yacht's schedule, boarding point and route need to be confirmed for the trip.
